New Group Home - Holliston, MA
This residential home presented a few challenges that our team tackled head on. First, it required slab-on grade construction, as well as full wheelchair accessibility in and around the home. In addition, the town we built in is a what is referred to as a “Stretch Code” compliant town, meaning homes must meet energy efficient levels 20% higher than the state energy code requirements. This meant we had to perform additional testing and certification processes to ensure the home was compliant. Finally, because of the nature of this home, the construction required additional safety equipment, including a full fire sprinkler, alarm system, and emergency lighting throughout. The brand new space consisted of a home with 4 bedrooms, a great room, sun room, patio, staff offices, and a commercial grade laundry room with washers and dryers. The kitchen was designed for complete wheelchair access to sinks and appliances. Finally, the bathrooms, including showers, were also wheelchair accessible.
